Summer Program: Registration Deadline July 23 2010
Who Would Benefit:
Children and youth with a diagnosis of dyslexia, language based learning disabilities and/or ADHD. who:
- are experiencing difficulty in reading, writing and spelling
- requires assistance in phonological awareness, sound symbol recognition, blending, decoding
- need to improve their reading fluency and reading comprehension
- have poor handwriting
- need a low teacher/ pupil ratio
- need a research based approach
- needs a safe and comfortable learning environment with a qualified teacher
This program is taught by teachers, with specialized training in Orton Gillingham and other multi-sensory language approaches, backed by scientific research. For more information on Orton Gillingham go to http://www.ortonacademy.org/.
Dates: July 26 - Aug 6 (two weeks) (in the am) (No classes are held on August 2)
and/or July 26 -Aug 20 (four weeks) (in the am)
Children can enroll for either a two week block or a four week block. They attend for 1.5 hours per day.
Class size: 1:1 Ages: 6 and up.
Admission Criteria: A diagnosis of a language based learning disabilitiy and average to above average intelligence. These classes are appropriate for children with learning disabilties or ADHD.
Fees: $50/ hour LDAH members $55/hour non-members

To register for this course, please print and complete the Pupil Information and Emergency Consent (see below) Payment must accompany the registrations forms or paid through Pay Pal. As there are only a few places for each course, payment ensures a spot. Children are accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
