Writing

This progran is designed for children in who struggle with the many aspects of writing.  The program focuses on parts of speech, types of sentences, captilization, puctuation, paragraph development and cursive writing skills

Who Would Benefit? Children and youth with a diagnosis of language based learning disabilities and/or ADHD, who:

  • are experiencing difficulty in writing
  • require assistance with cursive writing
  • need to improve their understanding of basic grammar such as punctuation, capitalization, sentence and paragraph structure
  • need a low teacher/ pupil ratio
  • need materials designed for individuals with learning disabilities
  • needs a safe and comfortable learning environment with a qualified teacher

Admission Criteria

  • Participants must have a diagnosis of language based learning disabilities with average to above average intelligence
  • The ability to read at a Grade 3/4 level 

   Class Size 1:1   Grades 6-8    Children attend for 1.5 hours a day

Dates: August 9 to 20 (a.m.) Fees:  $50.00/hour for LDA Halton Members  $55.00/hour for non-members
Regististration: To register for this course, please print and complete the Pupil Information and Emergency Consent forms below and send to the office with payment.   As there are only a few places for each course, payment ensures a spot.  Children are accepted on a first come, first serve basis. A psycho-educational assessment must accompany the application.
