Reading Rocks is a literacy program offered in partnership with the Research Institute for Learning Differences.
Reading Rocks is an 8-week reading program for children and youth 6- 12 years old who require support with their literacy skills. Through this effective instructional program, children are paired with a trained tutor who will adapt a workstation and literacy program according to the specific needs of one student (tutor to student ratio is 1:1). The program focuses on the essential literacy concepts of phonics, sight words, and fluency. Tutors will utilize engaging, hands-on literacy activities to address these areas and build children’s motivation. Each week, each student will set goals and graph their success in these areas on their poster board, contributing to self-regulated learning.
Reading Rocks makes reading FUN!
Due to reduced funding, there will be a fee to participate in this program effective July 2019.
$100 for Members / $150 for Non-Members (The cost of annual membership is $50 per family, paid separately from program fees)
