WHY BECOME A MEMBER?

Your membership with LDAH ( ) automatically affiliates you with LDAO and 19 other chapters throughout Ontario, all of which are run by dedicated staff and a volunteer Board of Directors. They are people like you, who dedicate their time and efforts to ensure that people with learning disabilities are enabled to reach their full potential. Become a member of LDAO by joining your local Chapter (LDAH) and share in the rewards of supporting individuals and families with learning disabilities.

 

 

MEMBER BENEFITS

  • Member discounts for LDAH and provincially affiliated LDAO programs and services, and community education events including online webinars/courses. LDAH offers a variety of programs and services as well as multiple community education events such as our annual Lecture Series and our annual Conference.
  • Receive LDAO’s newsletter Communiqué (published 2 times a year) a quality newsletter that speaks with authority to LD related issues, and is accessible in both print and electronic formats.
  • A portion of your membership fee enables LDAO to produce new resources for parents and professionals on a variety of pertinent and timely topics; to dialogue with relevant Ontario Ministries that deal with our exceptional population; and to make the public more aware of and empathetic to those affected by learning disabilities
  • All members of LDAH are eligible to vote at our organization’s Annual General Meeting which usually takes place in September. Meeting dates and times will be posted to our website. Come out and make your voice count!

The respects your privacy and does not share it's subscriber lists with any outside parties. Our newsletter is distributed once every quarter and provides important updates on both chapter programs/services/events as well as providing valuable information about community services in and around Halton. We occasionally send out LDAH event reminders. This is our primary source of community notifications.
Due to the increase in postal costs we would like to know if you would prefer to receive your issues of Communique via email rather than by regular post.

Membership Types

Professional membership suitable for individuals or practitioners working with or on behalf of individuals with learning disabilities. i.e. psychologists, doctors Receives 5 copies of Communique even if they elect to receive a copy by email. All those wishing to be listed on our professionals resource page must purchase this membership. Institutional membership suitable for larger organizations affiliated with individuals with learning disabilities i.e. school board, community care centre Receives 10 copies of Communique even if they elect to receive a copy by email.
