OPENING THE DOOR TO EXCELLENCE IN MULTISENSORY TEACHING:THE ORTON-GILLINGHAM APPROACH
The Academy is holding its annual conference at Havergal College in Toronto, Canada. The program will begin Friday
afternoon and will conclude early Saturday evening.
Special Feature: Saturday, April 24, – Gavin Reid, Ph.D. will present the keynote address on
Effective Learning and Motivation - Ideas and Strategies for Independent Learning.
Ron Yoshimoto will be holding an Orton-Gillingham master class
A Math Symposium will be given by Marilyn Wardrop, Canadian Academy of Therapeutic Tutors (O-G) – Multisensory, Structured and Hands-On.
Session topics will include adapting the curriculum, grammar and writing skills.

Keyboarding classes for children with learning disabilities and/or ADHD.
March 24, 2010 - 8 week Spring Program begins
August 9, 2010 - 2 week Summer Program begins
Classes are for 8-14 year olds.
Spring Program will be held on Wednesdays at 5.30-6.30pm, for 8 weeks. Summer Program will be every day for 2 weeks.
- Class sizes are small - 5:1 ratio
- Uses software to engage students and reinforce continued practice
- Teaches children to type whilst reinfocing spelling, grammar and composition
- Uses lessons and excercises
- Provides easy to follow directions and systematic, clear feedback about performance
- Focuses on improving speed and accuracy
Fees: $130 LDAH members, $180 non-members.
Register early to guarantee a spot. Payment must be submitted with registration form (using Paypal, or cash or cheque payable to LDAH) in order to reserve a place.
1:1 Reading and Math Programs
Out qualified tutors provide one to one reading and math programs for children with learning disabilities, using the acclaimed Orton Gillingham approach to teaching. Please contact us for more information or to register.
